Tablet issues

Hello there all!

I am writing to you to ask for help. As you maybe know I am using a quite old tablet - it is Pentagram Titan and I have it for probably 5 years. I really think it is a good time for it's retirement. Though it serves me well and IO would like to stick to Pentagram products.

If I only had enough cash to afford this new Wacom Cintiq :la: At least the smaller version!

okay, so I browsed what is on the market and I kinda liked Pentagram ThinType (here you have a link if you would like to see it [link] ) It has nice 16:9 resolution, is nicely thin and the specification is almost like in my old good titan and the price is about $70. Sounds like a perfect option, especially because I am a bit tired of this gigantic size of my old tablet ( A4 + border around it. Really huge and makes writing on the keyboard difficult XD)

So my question is - do anyone of you use this tablet? If yes, please let me know your feelings about it!

Eventually if you use any other tablet of the less known producer and you love it - please give me a name of it so I can check it myself!

Though I am afraid I won't buy anything from WACOM - their tablets are a bit too expensive when compared to others, for example the cheapest bamboo is nearly twice the price of Pentagram ThinType and is not as good in stats. But if you know any good wacom tablet that won't cost a fortune - give me a name please

I would be really really in your debt is someone can help me with this topic! Thank you in advance :glomp:

Zaskoczę Cię, Ao! Używałam ThinTypka i byłam z niego naprawdę zadowolona, chociaż miał też kilka wad.

I bought Trust tablet about two years ago. I haven't really used it much, since I feel that it recognizes its pen very poorly and lags too (didn't help to update the drivers and my computer should have easily enough memory to run these kinda things)

Buuuut, I don't have any experience to compare with, since that tablet was my first one. My sister has the same tablet, and she says she likes it and don't have any problem with it at all... So I really dunno if I have had just some poor monday piece :DD

Hah, why there is always so much different opinios :D But not many ppl are complaining about wacoms... yeah, there is a few negative comments but it is really not much, comparing to the happy users :) So I am really confused :) I will take my time to decide, I am not in a rush :)

that's true, but I have same thing that you do: I think they are bit too expensive for me, that's why I tried Trust as my first... But ofc I'd like to have wacom :D but as I said, I don't have any experience on wacom so I don't think I'll be very helpful :D

I know you were looking at pentagram products, but I use a different tablet, and it's lasted me for two years (and counting). I use a Genius G-Pen F610 and it's large enough to work, but not overly huge. I believe it's also a little bit cheaper than the one your looking at

Thank you for the info ^_^ I actually would like to buy something not so expensive as wacom, that is my main reasoning.

Welcome!
That's why I didn't buy wacom, and I actually don't like them.
I've played with one before, but it felt awkward and uncomfortable.

I bought my Wacom Bamboo Fun Medium tablet a couple years ago and absolutely love it. Unfortunately Wacom doesn't sell this tablet anymore, but I'm sure if you shop around you can find some. I can't remember how much I paid for it but it wasn't over $200. It comes with a pen and mouse (I used the mouse a LOT). I have not had any problems with it. On occasion when I start up my laptop it doesn't respond so I restart my computer and it's fixed. Might just be my computer though. I like the size of the medium because it gives you room to move the mouse around and isn't cramped.

hello!

as i saw everyone suggesting wacom, i wanted to help you :D i've used a genius tablet >>> [link], and i've gotta say they're pretty resistant, a few times by accident i dropped my pen and it worked very fine :) i have even used a trust model once, this one: [link], but i really had some problems with it because it sometimes just shut off :( out of the blue! the problem must have been only in my tablet, but still. i even dropped the pen (again, accidentaly) and it stopped working... i had to go to the store where i bought it to replace it :(

since 2010 i've been using wacom bamboo pen: [link] and it's been great, because it works fine on both mac and windows :)

but seriously? any tablet will do, 'cause you're a very talented artist, and you should feel free to use any model you wish :D many friends of mine, professional designers, just recomend wacom because it's more commom to find in brazil, but i have friends that use models such aiptek, monoprice, monotype, trust, and they work fine :)

if you're interested in wacom, you might want to check the website www.wacom.com, for better informations, about sizes and other :D i always prefer a small one, because of my limited space, but the bamboos produts have options that come also in big size, soooo suit yourself :) any doubt you may ask me <3

Thanks ^_^ I am more decided to choose something else than wacom, but I will have to think about wacoms too - at least I would like to try some models, maybe it will be possible in stores? After that the decision will be much easier
