Edit: I changed the colour of BG to red, added frame and changed some details of the unicorn. I have to say that I like it more
You know it was hard to paint a black unicorn on a dark bg when I did the sketch with white outlines I was so happy with the result, but wfter changing them into black all troubles appeared. I hope everything is quite visible on your screens (now the sun is shinning right into my window so later I can find some details that needs fixing. ...what a lovely weather we have in Poland today. Wonderful day for a riding lesson )
I must say that I like the BG here, I hope you won't find many mistakes in it ( I was thinking about some black border around the picture.. maybe I'll add it later if I change my mind ;D)
Again I did a second version of this image. Can be found in my scraps. Use the one like more, Karliashi: [link]
This is absolutely gorgeous! The feel of this work is just beautiful... The red sky and shimmering fur were done very well, and its obvious that you understand horse anatomy. This is stunning! beautiful job!
I'd say I prefer this version to the previous one--the red background contrasts beautifully with the subject, especially his eye. As stated before, the feathering and hair have been wonderfully executed. My only problem with the picture is that his back appears too short compared to the head and neck, thus making him appear front-heavy. You could fix this by making the neck slightly thinner and shorter.
Other than that minor issue, I'd say it's worth a .
huh, you might be right I like unicorns to have more thin legs and it may create the feeling that the head and neck are too big/heavy. I tried to change that but in the end this one is still he version I like the most (I'm hopeless )
That's understandable. I have the exact opposite problem, actually. I drew draft horses long before I attempted any other types, so I subconsciously draw thick legs on Warmbloods; their necks always end up looking too short as a result.
What an amazing landscape you made there, especially with the fading sunset and stream. So the title is technically metaphoric in two ways. The character is drawn and colored beautifully. I adore the mane and its shine. Gorgeous work as usual
Woow!! WHAT A BACKGROUND! This pic is really lovely Everything looks so pretty...the calm colours of the sunset, those eautiful stars and the details of the background. The rocks are awesome and the mountains look so realistic...also the unicorn! The amnes and tails look so pretty..wonderful work
